GETTING YOUR BAROMETER TO US

Shipping a barometer (with mercury still in the tube) by truck is not advisable.  Even heavily bubbled-wrapped and boxed, when a barometer is subjected to rough handling and banging, everyday occurances in a delivery truck, bad things happen.  Either the mercury tube will break and leak mercury everywhere (disaster) - or air bubbles will force their way up the tube and into the mercury column and vitiate the barometric reading.

One of the best ways for a barometer to travel is with the owner or a person who has been trained how to hand deliver barometers.  We are located 20 miles south of Boston.  We can always arrange a time for local customers to drive down and drop off or pick up a barometer themselves.

 

We can also arrange to make local pickups and deliveries on a fairly regular basis - at a resonable cost.

 

On a larger scope, pick ups and deliveries in the New England states can also be arranged - just not as frequent, and at a bit more expense.

We do take in repairs from all over the country on a reqular basis.  These repairs have had the mercury removed from the tubes and are sent to us by UPS.  After the barometer is repaired, we can make arrangements to have the instrument hand delivered (prices vary depending on your location) to your home or business - usually within a few months.
